Biochemical and ultrasonographic markers in fetal surveillance

چکیده

Introduction/Objective. Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is associated with increased fetal and neonatal mortality morbidity. The study objective was to investigate the correlation of maternal blood biochemical markers routinely determined in first second trimester screening ultrasound surveillance parameters prediction condition singleton pregnancies. Methods. In we measured serum levels beta subunit human chorionic gonadotropin (?HCG) pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A). values (HCG), alpha fetoprotein (AFP), unconjugated estriol (E3) inhibin A, also examined ultrasonographic biometric parameters, amniotic fluid index (AFI) Doppler resistance indexes. FGR defined as ultrasonographically weight below 10th percentile for gestational age. Obtained were correlated. Results. Study included 104 ?HCG correlated negatively third trimester, AFI. Increased PAPP-A positively elevated medial cerebral artery, lower biophysical profile scores, intermediate type non-stress test. Lower E3 FGR. Elevated AFP linked oligoamnion trimester. There no condition. Conclusion. First pregnancy (?HCG, PAPP-A, HCG, E3) combination fetus have predictive value development.

Placental Insufficiency and Fetal Heart: Doppler Ultrasonographic and Biochemical Markers of Fetal Cardiac Dysfunction

The first aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between Doppler ultrasonographic parameters and biochemical markers of human fetal cardiac dysfunction and myocardial cell damage in pregnancies complicated by placental insufficiency and/or fetal growth restriction. Our second aim was to examine fetal central and peripheral hemodynamic characteristics associated with retrograde ao...

Ultrasonographic and biochemical markers of human fetal cardiac dysfunction in placental insufficiency.

BACKGROUND Placental insufficiency may lead to fetal cardiovascular compromise. We sought to determine whether ultrasonographic parameters of fetal cardiovascular function correlate with umbilical arterial levels of biochemical markers of myocardial dysfunction and damage in placental insufficiency. METHODS AND RESULTS In 48 fetuses with placental insufficiency, umbilical artery blood was obt...

Combining biochemical and ultrasonographic markers in predicting preeclampsia: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND Early identification of pregnant women at risk for preeclampsia is a priority to implement preventive measures. Some biochemical and ultrasonographic parameters have shown promising predictive performance, but so far there is no clinically validated screening procedure. CONTENT Using a series of keywords, we reviewed electronic databases (Medline, Embase, all records to May 2009) r...

Ultrasonographic Screening for Fetal Malformations

As the risk for fetal malformation is present in all pregnant women, many experts believe that prenatal ultrasound screening should be universal. The frequency of fetal malformations and the undesirable consequences for affected infants and their families are convincing arguments for using this modality on a routine basis. When operated rigorously at certain periods of gestation, ultrasonograph...
